Landscape Design & Installation
Thoughtful garden design built to perform over time.
Our design and installation services are best suited for homeowners who value thoughtful planning, quality materials, and long-term garden performance. We focus on projects that complement ongoing care and fit naturally into a broader maintenance relationship.
The Design
Our goal is to help homeowners clarify their goals and develop garden plans that are both beautiful and practical. We focus on plant combinations, layout, and materials that suit the site, climate, and long-term use of the space.
Designs are built around careful selection of native and well-adapted plants that thrive in the Mid-Atlantic region. We consider factors such as mature plant size, light requirements, aesthetic qualities, seasonal interest, and the surrounding environment and microclimate when developing each plan.
Designs are created with long-term maintenance and plant performance in mind, ensuring that gardens mature well over time.

The Deliverables
Our design package includes a scaled 2D color garden plan that clearly outlines layout and plant placement. Each plan is accompanied by a detailed plant list with descriptions, images, and relevant growing information to provide clear communication and confidence for clients moving forward.
These documents communicate exactly what will be installed and why, creating alignment before work begins. They also provide a structured framework for accurate pricing and organized execution during installation.
Installation
Our installation work begins with careful site preparation, including removing unwanted vegetation, light grading and leveling where needed, and improving soil structure by incorporating compost and other organic material into the soil. This allows new plants to develop a healthy root system and supports long-term plant performance.
Plants are installed with close attention to proper planting depth and spacing. Root-bound material is loosened to encourage outward growth. We apply organic, slow-release starter fertilizer to support the establishment of healthy roots. Planting beds are finished with a fresh layer of mulch to help keep roots cool and moist, suppress weeds, and provide a clean, naturally finished appearance.
By focusing on proper plant selection and proper installation techniques, we help ensure that new gardens establish well and integrate seamlessly into long-term maintenance.
