The Design
We understand that every landscape is unique, and our mission is to help customers define their style and what they want to achieve in their landscape.
Our designs involve a careful selection of native or adapted plants that thrive in our mid-Atlantic region. We take into consideration a variety of factors such as plant size when fully mature, light requirements, aesthetic qualities and seasonal charecteristics as well as the surrounding environment and micro climate.
To be as economical as possible, we retain any existing plants that are healthy and complement the landscape and install new plants that are young and healthy. Smaller plants are not only more cost effective, but also better adapt to their new environment when transplanted.
Our comprehensive design package includes 2D computer-generated color PDF drawings and a detailed plant list with descriptions and images. For an immersive experience, we can also offer superimposed imaging, allowing customers to visualize their landscape's mature appearance.
Installation
We take pride in hand-picking all of our plants from local nurseries. Before planting, we enrich the soil with organic matter to improve drainage and moisture retention. We also apply organic starter fertilizer to ensure strong root development and overall healthy growth. After all plants are installed, we apply mulch to prevent weeds, keep the plant roots moist and to give a natural and aesthetic quality to the landscape. We can also install certain types of landscape borders for added definition and containment.
